Municipal house

For more than a century, the Municipal House has been one of the most important public buildings in Prague. Built between 1905 and 1911 in the Art Nouveau style, it is a testament to unprecedented artistic and craftsmanship skills and quality. The interiors were decorated by leading painters and sculptors such as A. Mucha, J. Preisler, L. Šaloun, and others. The largest space in the Municipal House is the central Smetana Hall. Prague named the concert hall in honor of Bedřich Smetana, the founder of Czech modern music. Smetana Hall is primarily a concert hall for 1,200 listeners, where the world’s most important musical ensembles and performers have performed since its opening. The hall can also be rented for various social events, especially traditional balls, award ceremonies, or prestigious gala dinners.
The hall has a built-in stage measuring 15×10 meters.
